I was told the following story from a friend:
A girl bumped into a Chinese ajeossi and muttered a swear. The ajeossi then kidnapped the girl and raped her. The girl escaped and phoned the police for help. The police took an excessive amount of time to find her and the girl was murdered. The police claimed the girl didn't provide good enough directions but when the call was replayed to the public the directions were sufficient to locate her.

I'm not 100% on all the details but this is the gist of the story. Does anyone have a link to a newspaper that may be covering the story. Apparently it is a big story in Korea just now.

It's a terribly sad story.

Yup.

This is why I'm glad my family does not live in Korea.

Korea is not even close to as safe as "Newbs" would have you believe. This countries reported murder rate is higher than Canada and may may more cases are not reported in Korea. Please beware that as foriegnor you are also more likely to be a target. Please be safe people.

The whole article leaves me feeling numb, but this:
Quote:
His neighbors heard a woman screaming for help, but didnt report to police because they thought it was a quarrel between a husband and wife.

... well, I don't know what to say except that this is unspeakably horrible.

The chief of police apparently apologized and stepped down. Not sure how that's going unrape that girl and bring her back to life.

I wonder if the suspect is a Korean Chinese. If he is, the backlash could be big against his kind in Korea.

Sadly I feel that the BBC is giving it attention not because of the negligence of the police, (although it is mentioned) but more because of the gruesome nature of the crime.

Brutal. But, to be honest, when attempting to cover up the results of your homicidal breakout, that is the best way to go about disposing of the body of a person you raped and murdered for nothing more than an offense of face. I wonder if anyone will say the Chinese side of him was responsible. Someone is bound to say it here, right?

someone who can chop a body into 300 pieces is seriously ILL.

I mean the lengths to not get caught.
I am thinking he has done this before.

probably why he left china.

but what I don't get is, how did he get the girl back to his house?

knocked her out and then carried her? guess was very close to his house then?

How did this part of the story become known?
