How cheap are you talking about?
I got my wall unit for about 300,000 on Gmarket last year.
Anything less than that will probably be second hand...then you'll probably have to pay about 100,000 to get it installed.
Don't know anything cheaper. |

Actually I have an old unit, but black water has been dripping out of it. Can they service air con units, or when they get like that is there no turning back. Still cools, but might cause death.
300,000 is a pretty good price for new (I looked on Gmarket earlier today, but there is no category for air con.)
Don't suppose you know who the seller was? |

installation usually only costs about 40,000 and if you go to second hand shops you can sometimes get them for around 200,000 installed. |

To fix your current aircon is likely very minor.
Basically, what you probably have is an aircon that has not been cleaned yearly, as is very important. It could be simply clogged some, or even be angled wrong. Our last new aircon we bought was installed incorrectly, and began puking water at an enormous rate because the numbnuts install guy forgot to pull the internal plug to allow the water to drain!
A 20,000 or 30,000 won service call will likely fix the issue rather quickly.
To work properly, an aircon is basically a sealed unit, as far as the gas inside of the piping and unit goes. The black water just means it is really dirty inside the water trough and all around/between the fins, most likely. Cleaning an aircon is actually very simple, and one should do it every year before shutting down for good (and then cover it for the winter).
You can buy a can of aircon cleaner spray at about any corner grocery for somewhere around 4,000 won or so, if memory serves. Keep the windows to your house open when you do, and make sure nothing is under or near the aircon when cleaning. Have a towel handy. |

that's great thanks for the info swamp, I'm going to get my old aircon moved from my old apt (friend living there doesn't want to use it)
One thing I really like about Korea is how the services are all so damn cheap. |

A/C installation is not one of those cheap things.
Installing an A/C will run you at least 100,000Krw, but only if you dont need long pipes, bracket for the compressor unit and to drill a 60mm whole through your wall. With these it can be 200,000Krw.
Thus you need to pay for uninstalling as well if you get it from your friend. Unless you do it yourself, which is not extremely difficult. Ah, and you will need a gas refill as well which costs around 30,000Krw. |

I had my second hand one installed for 40,000 as I noted above. Included them putting a metal thing in the window to put the hose through and setting up the unit on the roof. If you paid 100,000 you paid too much. |

Second hand stores might do it for cheap as a part of the service since they charge a lot for the unit anyways If you move that to a new place you will pay 100,000 or more. |
