Does anyone know the release date on the iPad3? Or what the hold-up is? |

As far as I know, no date has been announced yet. I'm assuming one of the holdups is whether LTE will be supported here, if so they need to build devices specifically for Korea. |

I wonder why Apple couldn't just release the wifi only version here when they released it everywhere else.
I understand the 3G version needs to pass the network tests (or whatever it's called) to be allowed on sale here, but that wouldn't affect the wifi only version. |

Totally different wifi system internally. Has to pass inspection, tests, etc., that are rigged to give Samsung time to respond.
That's just my guess.
It took a year and a half before the I-phone was allowed in here, just giving the local phone baby time to cry over their own lack of innovation, and almost catch up. They would have found reason to keep the I-phone out forever if the average Korean hadn't made such a stink about it. |
