A BA? Hadn't really even considered that and nobody had ever asked!
My take on it would be much like doing the MA here; major in something directly related to Korea and take advantage of courses taught in Korean.
For other majors? Your call. People have all different constraints and motivations that can impact a decision about where, what, and when to study.
You're only as good as your 'last degree' in many respects. If you do your BA/BS here, smoke the GRE/GMAT, and then get a top tier MA/MS/MBA, nobody will care where you did your BA. Same for the MA to Ph.D. transition.
There are undergrad programs here that might be able to help you out. Yonsei, I believe, has a dedicated undergrad college where all the courses are taught in English.
At any rate, the important thing is to GET the degree, no matter where you get it! |

KAIST is an excellent choice if you want a science program conducted in English. You can study there successfully without knowing any Korean. I don't have any experience with chemistry, but KAIST is generally considered as good or better than SNU in engineering/technology, but SNU might be a little better in natural sciences. For a foreign student, other things will be much more important than their ranking difference. |
I hear Pohang University of Science and Technology, or Posetch, is the best sci-tech school in Korea or the Korean equivalent to MIT. |

I've constantly heard that KAIST is the MIT of Korea and not POSTECH. Though POSTECH is also a very good school.
I would consider how your interests fit with Professors at the school before anything else. Look through the websites of SNU, Yonsei, KU, KAIST and POSTECH and see if you can find anyone, then do pros and cons (small lab versus big lab, teacher looks like a dead fish or a sociable person, rate of publication of lab members, do they take 5 years to finish a masters) and choose. |

And KAIST beat POSTECH on the QS rankings. All rankings should be taken with a box of salt.
And Ive still never heard of POSTECH being referred to at the MIT of Korea. Rankings dont affect what people call a university. To me they are both good engineering schools with poor location. |

| I'm sure a degree from either KAIST or Postech would be lauded in Korea, though if they were that great, we would've heard more about them. |

Back home most people cannot name a university outside of Canada/USA excepts Cambridge and Oxford  |

| yeah, ive been here for more than 10 years, and i can understand the idea some people want to get their higher degrees here (imo, i think because of boredom and the idea of "using time wisely") but I have a big feeling that unless youre wanting to work in the region or in Korean studies, itll probably not be well received by the workplace back home, like a US dentist who trains in Barbados. It may be cheaper, but still... |
