Just an idea I have been recently kicking around in my brain.

Quite a few posters on this forum are funny or think they are funny. Why not put it to the ultimate test. For the next get-together why don't we have a stand-up comedy contest. Anyone can enter but the theme of the comedy has to be Korea/ESL related. Judging from what has been posted in the past year there are many things that can be included in a routine.

We can have judges and perhaps cash prizes. Might even try to get some of the musically inlined to entertain as well. We all have experience entertaining (read teaching) a group of people. How about it? Anyone in? Any other suggestions?

As of now none has been planned but it has been awhile since the last one.

If one is planned all are invited--even buzzkills!

I don't think this would work. Some of us are funny in person and not on paper. And vice versa. Take me for example. I am actually kind of shy and laidback in real life. Whoda thunk?

Mithridates on stage:

"So I was talking to a guy about Estonian and Korean possibly being distantly related, and I said, well it's not just the verbs ending with 'da', if you know what I mean! Wink wink!"

hmm...

I think I'll have to give stand-up a miss...
