When employers ask for hobbies and things like that would it be ok to tell them that " I am an active member of Dave's ESL Discussion Forum"?
If they probe deeper about it would it be appropriate to say things like "I have helped people live a better life and have contributed to their improvement as an English teacher"?

How does all this sound?

I would stick to non-technology things... they want to make sure you're a well-balanced person (or see how willing you'll be to go on teacher retreats and field trips, lol)

Sure. Sounds like a good idea. Might I suggest that you also mention that you're fluent in Korean, enjoy volunteering at the labor board and pension office, and you spend your free time studying Korean contract law and the Korean Labor Standards. They'll love you. Honestly.
