Why is this convicted criminal allowed to continue working in the United States? If an American were to be caught drinking and driving in Korea, what would happen to them? The entire country would be in uproar.

If the American were a professional baseball player, then nothing would happen. Duh.

Sad, but very true.

I knew an American teacher who was caught drinking and driving in Korea. He paid fines and had his license suspended for a few months. He did not lose his job. He did not lose his visa and was able to renew it when the time came. The country was not in uproar. I don't think his employer ever even found out. This was several years ago though, before some of these "new regulations" for E-2 visas. I don't know if he is still in Korea or not as I haven't been in contact with him.

Of course a teacher and a baseball player are two different things. One's famous and the other is not. One works with children and the other does not. You really have to compare apples to apples on this. What would happen if a foreign baseball player were to be arrested in Korea? As far as I know it's never happened, at least I've never heard of a case.

Do you really believe that? Sad if you do. Paranoia and delusion is not good for the brain.

Also, I'm pretty sure at some point an NET or a soldier or some athlete has been out cruisin n' boozin and wrapped themselves around something. Care to point me to a big story that had the country in an uproar?

If he leaves America it will be due to his low batting average not his DUI.
