Hey all,
I'm in need of an "original Police clearance certificate" -- i.e., the equivalent of an American FBI check, except for my time in South Korea. Would this be a matter to be handled at immigration in Mok dong -- or should I just go to a central police station and present my ARC card? From the scouting I've done online, it seems the latter -- you request a "Criminal History Information Record" from the nearest police station.
Thanks!! |

You can get a copy of your Korean criminal history record at any large size police station. In some areas, you may have to go to the main police station in the district. |

I got one from the main police station in Dongdaemun (near Seoul Station). They didn't speak much English, so either take a note (in Korean) or a Korean friend. Takes about 20 minutes. |

Thanks for the advice/experience! I went to Saodaemun police station today (line 5, exit 7) and they printed it out right while I was there, yes, took about 20 minutes. They requested my ARC and passport, only had the ARC, but they did it anyway. |
