I'm currently in Mexico getting ready for a quick trip to Canada to get my E2 sorted out. I worked in Korea before but the new RCMP check has really got me scratching my head. I know there have been tonnes of posts about this topic and I apologize for the repeat, but I just want to feel a bit more reassured!

When I did a google search I found this company:

Has anybody used this, or another company in Ottawa to get their scan done?

Was the turn around time 72 hours as promised?

Am I on the right track or is there a better way to get this done?

ANY advice would be appreciated at this point!

I had mine done digitally via the commissionaires. I recall it being somewhere off Merivale. About 80 bucks... quick and easy. Note: 72 hours does not include post. The RCMP will process your prints within 72 hours. Took about 7 bdays to reach my place in Kanata.

Has anyone gotten their visa in Ottawa with a non-fingerprint CRC?

The Embassy website says " - Criminal Record Search Certificate (Original must be issued within the last 6 months by RCMP, OPP, or Municipal Police in ON)

Anyone?

Go to the Ottawa Police headquarters, pay 40 or so dollars they process it on the spot, takes longer to fill out the form than to do the actual check. If there is a hit on your name, you get to do fingerprints, no idea the time frame for that.

The embassy accepted it for my E2 so it should do the same for you.
