I just realized that I never signed another contract and I'm concerned my company may use that as a way to get out of paying me severance or something like that.
Is that possible? |

If you are staying on for another year you should at least get a raise. So ya, I'd insist on a new contract. A contract is meant to protect both you and the employer.
Haven't you negotiated anything more than you were already getting with your first contract? More vacation time, more money, etc?
Get that stuff in writing! |

actually, and stupidly, no I didn't negotiate anything. I just requested the money they were paying for my home allowance since I moved out with my wife, which was granted to me.
I'm just thinking this after school program might try to stiff me on my 2nd year's severance pay since there's no written contract stating I'm entitled to it.
I renewed in July of last year, too, and I just now remembered I never signed a second contract. |

I thought you had to submit a new contract to immigration anyway. |

Just talked to my manager, and he said the same thing, that in order to extend ARC I had to sign it. I just don't have a copy. |
