I saw a chinese teacher in taiwan promote themselves this way and i thought it was cool.
They setup a website with their resume, photo and some testimonials, to promote their personal brand as a teacher.
It seems to me like a great idea and i wanted to see what you guys think and if anyone has one.
I'm thinking of doing this and trying to figure out how i should set it up and what i should put on there. |

Depends on whether or not your credentials merit the exposure. If you just have a BA and very little experience, what's there to 'promote'?
Also, what is the reasoning behind the promotion to begin with? The Chinese teacher may be angling for private jobs. Are you able to work legally 'on the side' here? If not, again, why bother?
Some teachers run websites to augment their classes. They list materials and websites that help students, and may even post assignments or what not on the site. THAT can be a cool, albeit round about, form of shameless self promotion. |

A website is a good way to promote a business. I highly recommend it!

It is an okay idea. But once again context and content. |
