Can anyone (ladies, preferably), help me pinpoint a salon in Seoul--I'm assuming in Itaewon--where a Blaxicana (Latina/Black) broad can get her hair did? I'm not comfortable with the idea of a Korean hairstylist messing with my hair if s/he has no experience with curly, kinky hair, especially since pretty much no one here (no Koreans anyway) believes my hair is not a perm. Sorry. I would rather shave my head for the fifth time. I'm just wanting to get the split ends trimmed.
Thanks! |

I only have a Scotsman's mop with some Jew fro thrown in for good measure, but the Green Turtle in Itaewon was fantastic...I think the stylist there studied abroad, and she knows how to handle curly hair. You also get a wash before which you'll probably appreciate. Exit 3 - right above the Quiznos/Tomntoms |

D&C...Thanks, got that PM, which I'm sure you noticed.
J...I appreciate your response. It's helpful. Simply looking for a stylist who can handle my untame mane with the respect I think it deserves.
Cheers! |

I am also Black and Latina and I recommended a salon on here a year ago and i still go the same salon religiously. http://forums.eslcafe.com/korea/viewtopic.php?p=2625700
The salon name is Aroma Hair and I get magic straight done there for about 45,000 won (Their prices went up recently but still a good deal) Since they do such a great job perming my hair (which isnt an easy task since ive got tons of hair ) I'm sure they could trim your hair fine. But word of warning that you might want to bring a Korean friend with you if you dont speak Korean because from what I've seen none of their stylists speak English. |

Thanks for the information! I'm not interested in a straightener of any sort, just a trim. I may have a friend or two who could help me out if I must head that way. |
