Anybody know where there are some good watch (ie. to tell the time) shops? A want to buy a sports style watch but there arent many places that sell watches around here where I live (Osan). I've been to a couple of dept stores in Seoul but they only sell real high-end kind of stuff (ie. W1,000,000+) Too expensive!. Some places like E-Mart sell watches but they're mostly rubbish kindof stuff. Cant seem to find anywhere thats sells middle range watches (apart from the internet but I dont like shopping that way).

Got my digital watch in Emart in December of 2010.
No problems or battery changes needed so far.
Cost me 24,000 won.

There are some decent shops in Myoungdong and Dongdaemun in Seoul. Also there are a few decent online retailers that I have used to buy mid range to expensive watches. If you interested I can let you know. Also I just purchased a new Vostok Amphibian from ebay, they run about 96,000won delivered from Moscow (takes about 10 days) the owner of the website is very well known amongst watch enthusiasts. For the price they can not be beat and, they contain an automatic in-house movement, which is a bonus. They only problem is the bracelet or straps are pretty terrible but you can switch that out at emart for about ten bucks installed. I hope this helps.

Cheers,

Just go buy a watch. Oh yeah make sure you look for sales. I bought my Wenger swiss army watch on sale for $70 US, it was listed for $200. You could buy it for less than $200 not on sale obviously, but $70 was a good deal, and it's better than a Timex or Casio.

EBay. Buy one for 70-90% off retail and have it shipped to your family. They can then ship it to you here. Do your homework, watch out for fakes. Not a bad way to go.

Thanks for the responses guys. I ended up buying a nice casio G-Shock at Time World in Jonggak. Was a little bit pricey (W155,000) but looks and feels just great!
