|

So today i was informed that I would need to get 2 official copies of my FBI background check. I have one and I completed it months ago. Upon calling the FBI I was informed that I would have to complete the process all over again, meaning the 8 weeks or so. I was wondering if anyone else has come across this issue. Is there any way to expedite this process?
This is the first time I've come across this information after dealing with a few recruiters. I'm freaking out a little bit, as I'm trying to head to Korea in the near future. |

Two things come to mind...
1) Applying with public schools. Different requirements. I may be wrong on this.
2) Recruiter is confused about recent changes concerning paper work.
The recent change is many teacher now have to submit CRCs to immigration AND/OR the Ministry of Education. It is supposed to be if you are an E-2 that a copy should be fine for MOE. If you are of Korean Descent or married to a Korean - the original should go to MOE. As said above - some people even government officials are confused about requirements.
Still if your last one is a few months old. Consider starting a new one in the pipe. It might come in handy in the future. Remember CRC are good for 6 months from date of issue. |

While a copy of the criminal records check and university degree are fine for most MOE offices, those in Busan and Incheon are demanding original criminal record checks and a second apostilled copy of the university degree. |

Thanks for the heads up on these two places. Interesting what other places are doing?
Looks like Busan and Incheon are going to find it hard to get teachers in the future. |
