| Coming over for the first time in June. Not decided on whether I want to bring my xbox. Is it a wise use of luggage space or a waste of space? I'm sure I'll spend a lot of time exploring my new city when I get there (Gwangju), but not having been to Korea before I'm not sure what daily life is like there and whether the xbox is justifiable. |

I brought my PS3 and found it to be worth the luggage space. I'm sure you will be spending loads of time outside your apartment exploring and socializing, but you're gonna be here for a whole year, which means life will start to get 'normal' and you'll have some downtime- rainy afternoons, lazy Sundays, etc. The xbox will also double as a DVD player, so that's convenient as well.
My one caution regarding the xbox is that it's region locked. You might have trouble tracking down titles for your region while you're here. In Seoul I don't think it's a huge deal because there's a huge electronics market that seems to have NA compatible titles, but I have no idea what the selection is like in Gwangju. Hopefully others can fill you in more, but if you are worried about luggage space, you could pick up an xbox while you're here and sell it before you leave. |

| Yep, brought my PS3 and Xbox over from the US. Luckily, my place here has both 110v and 220v outlets, so no converter needed. PS3 games are region free, for Xbox I order on www.play-asia.com |

xboxes are sold widely in korea. i wouldn't waste my luggage space on it.
besides, you'll probably not have a decent TV to play it on once you get here. could be a couple months before you can even start gaming. |

You don't need a converter for electronics like computers, xbox etc. Only for things like hairdryers, blenders etc. Anything Hi-tech can run on either. |

You have no idea what you're talking about. The vast majority (possibly all) of the xbox 360's sold in NA come with a power supply that requires a 100-127V input, plug that into a 220 and you'll fry it.

You can't make blanket statements like that. My NA wii for example only takes 110, not 220.
People need to look at the actual adapters and see what it can run. I've got tons that are both, but then I've got the odd thing which isn't, even things in the same categories as other things which are. |

a general rule of thumb is, if it has a power brick then you'll need a converter. i had my dad ship my 360 to me and i bought a korean power brick, a voltage converter should work too.
the ps3 has an internal voltage converter so you just need a korean computer power cable. |
