I've been a Spurs fan since I was about twelve and sat courtside a few times because my friend's aunt was David Robinson's neighbor, awesome. The Spur dynasty was built on sublety, even though they have a huge market. Their high flying star was Ginoblili who IMO is one of the best players the league has ever seen. He is/was a dominating freak when he wasn't injured. Tony Parker isn't high flying but he's been one of the best PGs in the league for years. And though he's in his last years, the big fundamental was always the most important player. They've never gotten the respect but the Spurs were the dynasty of the 2000s, not the ass clown lakers, and never forget it. We're cool with the lack of respect, but as long as Popovich and RC Buford are at the helm, NEVER count the Spurs out. Spur. |
Hey make no mistake, Ginobili was/is an outstanding player who plays with reckless abandon, can get it done inside and out, and IMO should be headed to the HOF.
However, he isn't the type of high flyer that the league post-Jordan lock onto and promote for their above the rim theatrics.
For that, they got guyz like dis-

Yeah, that's the stereotype, but the league has little reason to support Ginobili outside of latin american countries. His highlights are up there, not Jordan esq, and I've posted Jordan highlights on this site previously. You should take a second look. It's not simply theatrics. Don't be a slam dunk enthusiast, appreciate the entirety of the game. |

D-Rose is out Chicago is not gonna go too far.
Ginobli can play. His unorthodox, herky jerky game is tough to guard and he's a good athlete.
I love the Spurs, always have. I just don't think they have an answer for Westbrook and Durant in the post season. |

| I ran across this thread a little late. I predict my Magic have no chance at all without Howard to get out of the first round. We might get the next one (down 1-2 now), but after that it's over. I'm kinda over Howard these days. |

| Just finished watching game 3 of Thunder vs Lakers in LA...truly stomach turning in terms of the number of missed calls in favor of Kobe and company, leading to like 27 points on free throws...the Lake show ends up winning by 3. |

| Is game 7 of the Sixers and Celtics going to be on ESPN tomorrow? Is there anywhere I can check the SBS ESPN schedule? |

Spur.
I'll edit this, it was all I could mutter as I watched the re-airing of game one into the early, early morning. I didn't even realize it was already the semi-finals, nor did I know the Spurs were on this insane win streak. To watch them in action again for the first time in a year was elating. I have to start streaming these games. As for this:
| Quote: |
| I was on the Spurs' bandwagon for nine straight years. Four out of those nine years they won the championship. But that was a long time ago. I think the Spurs used up all the gas during the regular season and have nothing much left in the tank. |
Nothing much left in the tank... like 19 straight wins? Yeah, yeah, we hear it year after year, but the Spurs continually go deep as balls into the playoffs. The Spur is a well oiled Japanese car. The role players sometimes outplay the other team's starting lineup that's how solid they usually are, and the genuineness and modesty of the big three (Parker, less so than Tim or Manu) is something to be absolutely admired in professional sports these days. The Spurs are the highest caliber team in sports and to remember that their franchise is located in the beaner dump of a city that is San Antonio, and not LA, NYC, BOS, CHI, etc., is such a good thing for American sports. I hate San Antonio as a city, been there many many times, but I love that team like it's my own child. And we got back Stephen mother f'n Jackson. Hope I'm not eating these words when they lose game two tomorrow morning. Spur. |

The Spurs are playing as well as any team in the history of the league. OKC is good but Game 2 of the WCF was a basketball clinic.
Rondo had a game for the ages in Game 2 of the ECF. If Paul Pierce hadn't of fouled out in regulation BOS would have pulled that one out. Not taking anything away from Miami. Lebron James had a great game and D-Wade did what he does. James' maturity in the playoffs has been what payed of for Miami and might just win them a championship. |
