Hi Everybody! New here at the infamous Dave's ESL Cafe and hoping to get some honest, good advice!

Does anyone know about Canadian Connections? It seems to be quite a good, honest company? I initially applied for EPIK (Seoul) but my partner who is from Suncheon (Jeollanam-do) had a family issue meaning that I now have to try to land myself a job in Suncheon, thus giving up EPIK due to the fact that I'm unable to specify locations. And so I stumbled upon Canadian Connections, which seems perfect as the benefits package is almost identical to the one offered by EPIK, yet there's more leniency on choice! If anyone could contribute any "wise words"/ insight, it'd be greatly appreciated!

On a different topic, I'm getting increasingly nervous about going to Korea to teach as a non-Korean Asian teacher. Some reports have been positive (Asians blending in better etc) and some negative (White westerners preferred). I'm just curious as to whether the situation would be slightly different as I'm going to be in a small city as opposed to Seoul. Obviously, factors such as students' ages (elementary/middle/high school) and family backgrounds would affect things a lot and so it's difficult to generalise. I speak advanced Korean, having studied it for 4 years as my major at University- would that be appreciated in a small city like Suncheon? Or would it be considered a handicap?

Either way, feeling excited but recently, have been getting more and more worried over little things so any advice would be useful!

Many thanks!
