Its a pretty huge building, about 3 min. walking distance away from Ansan Station. Just guessing but I think it will open in a few weeks.

I've never been in one of these stores, but I've read about them online. Is it worth the trip?

IMO no. The bakery goods are not up tp Costco's and the variety of foreign goods is more limited.

I wish E-Mart Traders would try to seriously compete with Costco. That would benefit shoppers in many ways. But, somehow, I doubt they will ever get that good, unless they get serious about foreign goods. HomePlus, with Tesco's products, could possibly create some larger warehouse stores, with more Tesco products, and that could compete with Costco. But, we'll see.

A lot more Tesco products have been popping up on HomePlus shelves, but they are pricey for what is just generic chocolate, crackers, etc. I do like their cereals.

re:emart traders
no membership fee.
less crowded than costco.
3L whole milk=4,980(6,700 at homeplus)
3 8oz. jars of prego spaghetti sauce=6,900(1 jar=4,980 at homeplus)
drawback is no discounted produce, meat or fish each night which is common at homeplus.
if you know where and when to buy your staple food items you can easily cut your grocery bill in half AND eat healthy delicious home cooked meals.
costco does have alot more foreign food items, however, so i still keep my membership but only go there once month, and NEVER on a weekend or holiday. absolutely insane.

I tried to go to Costco on Thursday about 11am. Thursday was NOT a holiday, and it wasn't even after work. But it was RAMMED. My wife guesses it was because of people buying gifts for Children's Day. Sucked. I initially planned to buy some stuff there, but after seeing the lines going from the checkout across the entire length of the store back to the meat department we decided to just hit up the food court and bounce.

So anyway, never a weekend, never a holiday.. and never 2 or 3 days before a holiday either.
