I've had the afternoon tea at Passion 5 and the Shilla hotel and found it nothing special and expensive. But there's a new place I found in Bucheon, the SangDong area across from the big Home Plus and Save Zone.
It's called Flying Cup and Saucer. The owner operators are from New York, a Korean - Chinese American couple. They make everything themselves, even the jam. They serve a variety of teas and illy coffee.
I love the decor, they've got tons of teapots on display! It's in the first floor I the Dijon Euro building, next to the LG Best Shop. The front is navy blue and gold, looks dark but they're always open!
I think their website is www.flyingcupandsaucer.com if you need directions.
As a tea lover i'm thrilled to find it! Loose black tea served in pots is an rarity here.

I'd suggest to you to write a guidebook to these places kumara. But knowing how brief their existences tend to be, it would probably be out of date within a year.

I tried my hand at blogging a few years back but after my favorite taco shop turned into a sushi shop overnight and my favorite Italian restaurant became Koreanized, I gave up!
I always hope that by sharing information here I can get them a little business so they don't close! Living here long term like I have it would be nice to have a place to become a regular at! Very Happy

I've been working my way through their tea list- Yorkshire Gold is my new fave! They have Assam, Ceylon, English Breakfast, Earl Grey, etc. as well as herbal teas. All the teas are Taylors of Harrogate and eminently enjoyable.

They've also added a menu of lunch items, depending on what's in season or fresh. I had hand stuffed cheese ravioli with marinara and foccacia last week! Excellent! They pride themselves on making everything from scratch. They both worked in NY, NY. The husband is a New Yorker and a cook. He takes great pride in his work and has the highest standards.

I highly recommend checking them out, it's a wonderful escape from the ordinary and overpriced Western food here!

It sounds amazing, wish it were closer to my neck of the woods, as I don't get out to Bucheon much.

Maybe you could try to get Simon and Martina to promote it? They seem to have a pretty decent readership/viewership and I'd be willing to bet you'd reach a lot of Bucheon folks that way.

mmmm.... Yorkshire Gold! That's what I used to drink as well. when I was last in England.

I'm a big fan of loose leaf tea, too, but it's difficult to find over here. These days I drink Liptons Yellow label. (Teabags, I'm sorry to say. But we can order them online, which is nice.) Maybe have to ship some stuff over from blighty at some point. Twinings tea is so expensive here - like five times what you pay in the UK. Thought the FTA was supposed to change all that.

Will have to pay the Flying Cup and Saucer a visit at some point. Interesting that they make their own jam - quite easy to do if you can get a load of cheap strawberries.

Scones and jam. Clotted cream. Yorkshire Tea. Bring it on!

Despite the availability and low price of strawberries for jam, they make raspberry and blueberry jam instead! Laughing
I didn't know that Simon and Martina did reviews of places to eat. I'll check out their blog, thanks!

Can't wait to see what new menu items they're brining out although I'd love to have their ravioli again too. Mmmm...and their focaccia...we ordered just a serving of bread it was so good. They served it with warmed marinara sauce and a generous helping of freshly shaved parmesano reggiano! Yummy!
