Hi there. OK. I have signed the contract and my recruiter in Korea now has all of my docs. He emailed me yesterday and told me to get another set of Canadian CRC and diploma docs with consular seals for the education dept. for when I arrive in Korea. I have never heard of this yet and it will cost me another $100. and 2 weeks or more. Anyone else heard of this? Can I not just copy the ones I have now. Its a private school I have signed with. Thanks much, Ken |

Good question.
I've been told that you can have Korean Immigration photocopy and stamp the documents that are then accepted by the MOE.
I've been told that you need 2 sets of documents with consular seals to give to the 2 agencies.
I've been told that it depends on where you are in Korea and which office(s) you are dealing with.
This is a recent post on the subject:
http://forums.eslcafe.com/korea/viewtopic.php?t=219406
.... "It is supposed to be if you are an E-2 that a copy should be fine for MOE. If you are of Korean Descent or married to a Korean - the original should go to MOE. As said above - some people even government officials are confused about requirements."
.... "While a copy of the criminal records check and university degree are fine for most MOE offices, those in Busan and Incheon are demanding original criminal record checks and a second apostilled copy of the university degree."
I'm still left with question marks. ?????

I've just bumped another thread about the same issue without seeing this
I would also like to know the answer, I've just obtained my documents and I'm now confused as to whether I have to go through the process and get more copies |
