One of the best events in Seoul is coming May 5-6. It will be held at Seoul City Hall. The great foreign food is always the star of the show.

the event use to be good, when it wasn't about money.
now the food sellers are just after profits! quality has gone way down hill
the past couple years.

We'll see. I would advise everyone to go and see for yourself. I've had fun, in the past, and there will be some great food.

This was a fun event last year. They had international liquor too! Not quite Epcot but good enough for Korea.

The Friendship Fair continues today, Sunday May 6th. I went there with a group of teachers on Saturday. I kept some notes.

Many people were eating kebabs but we were looking for some of the more exotic foods. The Kottu from Sri Lanka was very good, along with the Perkedel Jagung and gorengan from Indonesia. They are at the end, near the Stream, on the opposite side from the South African booth. The South African tent has a 7,000 won sausage on a long roll.

The French booth had some excellent crepes for 4,000. Some were with ham and cheese and others had sausages with onions, but the Nutella crepes for 3,000 were the best. There were British beers and Gavin's bangers for 2,000 but no Gavin. The Peru booth had Papas a la Huanca�na for 3,000.

At the Stream there were tents offring free Korean rice wine and some tents with free makeup, nails, and hair styling. Take a look-see if the food and entertainment bores you.

The South African sausage was both mediocre and overpriced. Never trying that again.

I thought it was a nice crowd on saturday. Not the most amazing food at times (and far too crowded on that food street in the afternoon), but it was a nice time - and good to run into people.

Saw a number of old Dave's posters there.

I went on saturday and sunday and enjoyed myself. Lots of variety of food and beer. Sadly on Sunday a small angry gyopo and his rude girlfriend tried to start trouble with me. This culminated in him telling me to watch myself "in his country" which gave us a good laugh.
Tl;dr good event/douchbag gyopo.

I went on Sunday, wasn't that busy compared to Saturday I heard from some of the booth owners.
the food in my opinion was the same as last year but raised in price.
also I noticed a lot of booths missing this year.
the best food, for me the iraq, the Afghan, Sri lanka . but it's always them for me every year, it's the same dudes every year.
didn't really see many new things, the Italian booth was new, was good.
ummmm tried some new beer from vietnam a hanoi beer
the british booth had some beer for 8000 won, so we just sampled it and kept moving, there bangers were tasty though. probably the best there! saw the 7000 won south African sausages, just shook my head and walked past that. it's like the Tiki chicken I paid 5000 won for. the guy gave me like 6 tiny pieces LOL. I understand they are there for the money. but it never use to be that way when the embassy put it on. and actually you know which booths are run by the embassy and which are for profit. the embassy run booths, are cheap and more friendly,.
anyway the number of booths are shrinking every year

I used to go to the Broughton Club. This is the club in the basement of the British Embassy. I used to go for the beer. They had beer you could ONLY get there. Then they banned smoking, upped the prices and correspondingly supermarkets like E-Mart and Lottemart starded selling Kilkenny, Smithwick's and Guinness. Also it only admitted people from 6:00-10:00 on Friday nights. However, the people who went there were much more interesting and mature than the usual crowd of pedantic Yahoos you bump into in Korea.

Back to the point. The British Embassy is now not worth it.
