Hi everyone,
As the title suggests I'm planning a weekend getaway soon and was wondering if anyone has suggestions on a good place somewhat close to Seoul/Incheon.
A few conditions:
I finish at my hagwon at 6:30pm near Bupyeong on Friday night and would like to head off asap after work and get to my destination at a reasonable hour, so I guess it would have to be no more than 2 hours from Seoul.
I would prefer more romantic locations, I have been conisdering the beach as the weather is getting a bit warmer recently but I'm open to other suggestions.
And as I mentioned I'm working in a hagwon so private jets and 5 star resorts are not realistic at this stage.
I plan on going in about 3 weeks. Thanks in advance for all of your help, I'm a bit of a noob in Korea so I don't really know where the best destinations are yet.
Thanks! |

I went to Chiaksan last year around the same time you're thinking of going and really enjoyed it. There are nice mountains and rivers, but without the crowds that typically crowd such places in Korea. I drove though, and I can't testify to how easy it is to get there without a vehicle.
Other than that, there's always the most stereotypical date place in Korea, easily accessible from Seoul: Namiseom. |

I went to Namiseom this weekend. It was obnoxiously crowded. Like buzzkill crowded... |

Since you live in Incheon, the beaches on the Yellow Sea islands, such as 덕적도 or 자월도 could be a great option for you. You can catch a ferry from the passenger ferry terminal near Dong-Incheon Station. You wouldn't be able to leave until Saturday morning as the last ferry usually leaves Incheon in the afternoon, but it's still a pretty nice weekend getaway. |
