I was lucky enough to have a good friend back in the states to supply me with razor blades whenever I needed. I stocked up before coming here and have since run out and can no longer receive them from my friend.
I have very sensitive skin when it comes to shaving and I've tried going electric but it killed me. I generally get the best result when shaving after showering and using Mach3 power blades.
Now I'm on the hunt for blades and realize they are quite expensive.
Any tips on where to buy blades? Any other methods or tips would be appreciated as well.

What does that supposed to mean? Every corner store sells Mach3. It�s not expensive. Well, if you throw it away after using it once�
A pack of 4 blades is usually running for 10,000-11,000Krw. E-mart sometimes have larger packs on sale (8 perhaps) Or Costco carries those huge packages with dozens of blades. |

| I prefer to use one of my straight razors to shave, but I most often use a Gillette adjustable safety razor (practically a collectors items) out of convenience (straight razors are the best, but it takes an eternity to shave with one). You can buy a Dorco safety razor for 2000-3000 won. Dorco razor blades are about 1200-1500 a pack of ten (even cheaper if you buy them bulk) and are also quite good for sensitive skin (just make sure to throw them out after 3-4 shaves). |

Sorry.. Meant hunting for the best deal.
I'm not used to paying for blades, so 10,000 for 4 blades seems steep to me. Also, I don't throw them away after one use, but if I use them much more than 2-3 times, it really roughs me up.
No hurt in trying those Dorco's. Thanks for the suggestion. |

| Fusion or Mach3 blades are really expensive in the States as well........they are expensive everywhere, esp if you only use them 3 or 4 times. |

Yep. I have a fusion and while the blades are expensive here, they are just as expensive at home.

| Just buy the disposable four blade razors at Family Mart. They work great. |

Nice, going to try it.
Also, I've started putting a tiny amount of soap between the blades by making a tiny stroke of the blade against a bar of soap. I'm not sure if it fills in microscopic deformities or just gives more even lubrication, but it's made shaving much smoother even with older blades (when combined with standard shaving cream, of course). |

10,000 is an average price for a package of 4 Mach 3 blades anywhere in the world.
I use them and have used them exclusively for years. I shave my face 3 times a week and my head 2-3 times a week and usually get 2 weeks out of a blade. A package of four usually lasts me 2 months or so. 60,000 per year for blades isn't that much. |

| I use Sharp DE blades but even better are the Shark brand. I've bought everything through Amazon and use an ancient DE razor. If you're buying a hundred blades for $14 that should last you almost 2 years at about 1 blade/week that's pretty cheap. |

I bought 20 packs of Derby blades a few years ago, and I still have quite a few left (I don't shave on weekends and rather infrequently during my vacations (and my vacations are long). I liked them at first, but now that I've tried a couple of packs of Dorco, I find that the Derby are pretty harsh (they almost need to be dulled a bit before using). Not a problem with the Dorco.
I've heard good things about the Shark blades. I might give them a try. |

I was going to try one of those multi-brand packs but if you do hit blades you like then it's a bit weird switching.... |

Ever tried Astra blades? Any good? There are boxes of 100 for sale on Auction for about 9000won. I might just go with a box of Dorco for the same price. I found those to be very smooth and forgiving, and they also go dull (instead of becoming jagged like the Derbys) when it's time to replace them, which means fewer nicks. |
