I ain't gonna judge that - I never had a handheld, but still played through at least two pokemon games on emulators. You know how a gameboy game looks on a 17 inch monitor? Didn't care, too busy having fun

For those of you who are not pirates, be careful about buying a Japanese or Korean 3DS. If the developer of a game chooses to region lock it, you won't be able to play the English version if you import. It's better to buy 3DS from wherever you plan on buying games.

Of course, there will likely be a hack or something soon but who knows.

I'll be buying one when I go home to Canada later this year.

I find it interesting that the two easiest to hack/mod systems - the DS and the Wii, have the fewest worthwhile games to pirate.

Lol! Keen observation.

Lots and lots of shovelware, indeed. Although I feel that the Wii has the strongest exclusives.

I fully realize we're entering the realm of pure opinion now, but I did a lot of review-lurking before deciding to buy a DS over a PSP. Over two years later, I'm still happy with my decision. There's are tons and tons of great DS games out there (IMO more than the PSP many times over), but many of them don't get the recognition they deserve. There's also quite a few out there that aren't exclusive to the DS but just plain play much better on the system because of its dual screens and/or touch screen capabilities (two off the top of my head, Sim City and Puzzle Quest).

Was referring to the Wii.

Sorry it wasn't clear. DS definitely has a great library--personally prefer the PSP still, though. Can't beat the entire PS1 library on the go. I'm a big JRPG guy, so... yeah.

When I had a DS, it was pretty much mario kart, wario ware, etc. Most other games held little replay value for me.

I'll play ^_^. If you want a good site to get imports from I use Play-Asia. I used it when I lived in Japan and it was pretty reliable (and almost at better US prices). 100,000 W for a 3ds game was just O.O when I saw them in Yongsan, and they're region locked anyway >.<.

Well, I finally broke down and bought one, especially since the price isn't the rumored 450,000 won anymore.

I am digging on the 3D. It looks neat. Went ahead and picked up Super Mario Land with it.

One question... has anyone managed to change a Korean 3DS to English? I found instructions online, but when I go to where the instructions say to go, that option is absent. I'm patching the thing now so I'm hoping that will help.
