I see films from time to time at Megabox. It's about $8 for a night time show and $6 for a matinee. Compared to the $14 you seem to pay in Toronto now for a movie, it's a deal. The prices are so cheap sometimes I toy with the idea of buying two tickets on an aisle. The empty seat acts as a buffer between me and the person who needs to check their cell phone SMS messages every 10 minutes during the movie. Nothing like an unholy green glow coming from the seat next to you to disturb your concentration.

Is it really worth it to buy 2 seats?

Use a mobile phone discount card and the movies are cheaper.

You could just act as if you have some phobia about phones. Every time the person next to you pulls out their phone just start to scream like its about to kill you.

That should stop them from pulling them out every 10 minutes and acting like they are so important that they actually need to be in constant contact with the world outside.

Sometimes when I am bored I like to pull out my phone and play with it...

What's the hurry? Many films come out on video earlier here than in America or Canada. Rent it then and pay only a buck or two (1000 W-2000 W) and control your environment.

It's better than trying to control other people in their country; than telling them what they ought to do. Live with it or avoid it; you ain't gonna change it.

I don't care so much about the price. I just like the movie going experience (the big screen, the sound, the butter-covered movie theatre squid and/or popcorn) ... even if it does mean having sometimes put up with a moron and his/her cell phone.

And while I like being alone but I don't like being alone by myself Smile I like to be alone surrounded by people.
