|
|
My contract ends next month with my public school.I want to continue teaching in Korea, and don't particularly have to go home for a break.I will not be renewed with my current Moe.Now,in order to receive my exit allowance,I have to wait a month. In that time I can start a new contract with a Hagwon or private school. If I start a contract with a new Poe or Moe(which is my desire) within one month of my contract expiring,I will not receive my exit allowance or my entrance allowance from the new public school.
My main question is as follows.
Is there any way of receiving my exit allowance while staying in Korea?Keep in mind that I have exactly a month in Korea to get my affairs in order after my contract expires. Can I apply for a tourist visa after 13months of being in Korea. Can I make use of the D-10 in this situation? If I cant at least get the exit allowance then I might as well go home for a short while and then come back with a new public school paying for the entrance ticket.Let me know if you can help with this question. |

The exit allowance is for exiting.
Obviously if you stay, you won't get it. |

I can't believe someone could be teaching here for a year and yet not know to put a space between punctuation marks and the next letter. I fear for your students. |

Go home, then come back.
If you can't afford to take a break, forget your exit allowance.
Good luck. |

They also didn't know what the word exit meant. |

I got my exit allowance from EPIK and didn't leave. I started a new job the day after my EPIK contract ended. |

lie to your school at tell them you are going home, then go the D 10 route. What does your contract specifically say? even though it is called exit allowance, the contract usually says we get it after a complete year of teaching. Your school or MOE might be trying to penny pinch on you. |

My contract states what my co-ordinator told me.I will be paid the exit allowance and pension one month after my contract expires. The only case where I won't get paid is if I get a job with a new city or province(within a month after my contract expires).Don't know if lying will work since my co-ordinator will send a letter of release directly to another school. Also, when my references are checked at my school from a new employer,my school might want to investigate. |
