Hi

I popped into an SK shop earlier and was offered this deal.

It is for 2 1/2 year contract, on the '52' plan (2GB, 250 mins, 250 texts) - So I am basically getting the phone for W10,000 a month.

It is the best I have found for an S2, Anyone know of any better deals ?

He was pretty sure that the price would not come down even with the launch of the S3

That's a good deal, I'd say go for it.

Oh and ask if they offer unlimited 3G after your LTE data runs out. I'm with LG U+ and pay 9,000 a month extra for this option.

Wow I didn't know this option existed. So after you blow through your LTE allowance they'll automatically move you to unlimited 3G for the rest of the month?

yea though it is much slower than lte. They cap at 400kb/s but I couldn't watch youtube vids on it. Not bad for kakao and other basic stuff though.

The pricing on SK is pretty standard. I don't think individual retailers have any say in the pricing at all. You need to find a good seller who will give you little perks like extra cases, screen protectors, pay the activation fee, pay the using card fee and so on. By the way, I have that phone and I really like it. My only complaint is the battery life, which I hear is a problem a lot of Galaxy phone users have.

Yep, I just got my wife to call LG and ask if there was such an option.

Honestly, it's a little slower, but for basic browsing I can barely notice the difference. Sure Youtube is a tad slower, but again, it hardly makes the device unusable.

will the s3 cost much more do you think ?

becaue it looks like it is out soon - and It would be foolish not to wait for a month for a better phone ????

The fella was adamant the s2 would not drop in price - but i guess he would say that ???

Also - Am I right in thinking the data plan contracts here are different than back home ? It is the phone you are committing to - not the data plan - so if I bought a 2nd hand phone and then signed up - I am not committed to a long term contract ?

Thinking there might be a few people selling their s2 once the s3 is out !!!!!

Thanks for your help in advance............

IMO there is very little difference between the S2 HD LTE and the S3. In fact, I like the look of the S2 better.

A few questions for you about the 4G LTE:

1. If you use wifi in the subway, does it keep from eating into your bandwidth for the month, as with the older phones?

2. In the 9,000 won 3G mode you have to pay for, is it IMPOSSIBLE to watch Youtube or news video from sites like CNN/FOX? How about Skype?

3. Because the screen size is larger, are you actually downloading more information per page and upping the amount you download because of the higher resolution (with videos, etc.)? Wondering how this might affect my bandwidth/usage.

Thanks.

1. Yes if there is Wifi available you can just switch to that instead of using your data.

2. It's not impossible at all, in fact it's perfectly fine for me. Like I mentioned before, it's a tad slower, but not unusable. I've never tried Skype so I couldn't say.

3. You can usually choose on YouTube the size of the video you want to watch. A clip in 720p will be a larger file size than one in 360p for example.

When I first got an LTE phone, I was always very careful about not using my allowance up so quickly, but now I don't really care. For general browsing, the difference between LTE and 3G is negligible.
