| Working hours differs from the time you are at work and the hours of the day you are at work. I would prefer working 9-5 over working 6am-9am and 5pm-8pm. |

a working hour is the time spent at work....if your job is 9-5 that is 8 working hours. If you are there 9-8 that is 11 hours. Time on the job is work.....!
At my job I have the joyous chance to put in 37 hour weeks while only getting paid for 30, tack on prep time and meetings and whatnot and it comes into over 40 hours a week.
And anyone would prefer a straight shift to a split shift from hell like that one....I dont know of anyone working 6am-9am and then 5-8pm.
Of course you could be like Joe Thanks and just give up and leave...what a loser

| 21 40 minute classes at my hagwon. I No prep time, go home off classes. I'm in the hagwon about 3-4 hours/day. |

Depends on what you've seen. I would say they put in a lot of hours, but I wouldn't say they all work their butts off.
For example:
1. A Korean guy friend I know would often retire to the roof to hit baseballs into a net with coworkers at all random hours of the day or night.
2. Workers at jobs often can't leave until the boss does. They often dilly-dally around doing nothing but surfing the net until they are allowed to go.
3. A Korean female friend of mine sleeps on the floor when her boss leaves. But she's expected to stay there -- work or not -- until he returns. Then she can go home.
On another note: I would classify Koreans as some of the most inefficient workers I've ever seen. |
