You may check their baggage allowances. They may only allow one checked bag instead of the two that Korean and Asiana and even United will allow. I booked a Delta flight that was serviced by Korean Air. They told me that Delta's policy is only one bag and charged me an extra $100 for my second bag. |

Ugh....yeah I'm going to check it.
I'm only asking because I've heard so many terrible things about Delta and my departure date from Korea is in two weeks.
I found some flights on my own which I provided the school. Of course the school dragged its knuckles on this and I found out yesterday that I'll be flying back on Delta.
Not pleased at all. |

My flight to and from America on Delta was the most demeaning flying experience I ever had (hmmm, actually second most demeaning). The good think is that they have so many flights, if there is a typhoon in Tokyo or you might miss you connection in America, they can easily reroute you, and you only loose like two hours, where you could loose half a day on another carrier. And they can get you all the way to your final destination in America. |

It's obviously not ideal....would much rather fly Korean or Asiana Air, but I guess a flight is a flight.....19 or so hours later and the BS is over. |

I'd take Delta over Air Canada any day of the week. Air Canada is easily the worst major airline in the world, mainly because of their rude unpleasant over-paid union, "that isn't job/problem," mentality staff. Can't get a non-stop flight home anyways, so routing through Sea-Tac instead of Vancouver makes little difference. |

I flew Delta from Incheon to Seattle when I returned to the US last year. It wasn't horrible, but it wasn't as nice as my flight to Incheon on Asiana. The stewardesses were rather rude to anyone who didn't look like they came from the US or Canada. One guy sitting next to me ended up with a free flight anywhere Delta goes because the stewardess was so rude to him. |

You're essentially flying Korean or China Air, so how can it be that horrible? I flew Delta to Bangkok and it was like taking China Air. It was a China Air airplane, China Air stewardesses, whats the difference? If you're carrying more than one large bag that has to go into the luggage then yeah maybe look for another flight, assuming that they don't charge you $100 also. I was always able to put a fairly large bag in the overhead storage. They tend to be not real strict on the sizing that they are supposed to allow. |

If you flew Delta to Bangkok and it was a China Air airplane and China Air stewardesses then you didn't fly Delta, you flew Delta operated by China Air. There is a major difference.

I love Delta! I would book a Delta or Korean air flight and sign up for skymiles. They will pay off in the end. the American Express Skymiles card is awesome for bonus miles too. Our upcoming summer vacation is being payed for from our skymiles.
I pretty much always fly Delta (used to be Northwest). I generally prefer them to all Asian carriers. The service is better, I like be able to have small talk with stewardess or steward. You also can request meals online when you purchase your flight. Over the last 5 years my wife and I have had two transpacific flights, one to Mexico and two to Japan all for free/round-trip with our airline miles. The also have upgraded us to first class a good 30% of the time on our regular flights.
I love getting Skymiles! We have probably spent about 16,000usd on airfare and gotten about 6,000usd back in reward flights/upgrades.

Thanks for posting. I'm glad to hear that someone has had a positive experience flying with Delta. I have some hope then. |

If flew Delta Pusan to Tokyo, Tokyo to Seattle. It was fine. It seems the US and Canadian airlines try on the trans-Pacific flights, unlike their domestic services. |

I just flew Delta a few weeks ago on a short trip to Canada. On the way there it was a Delta plane, on the way back it was Korean Air. The plane itself was fine. I had plenty of leg room, my own tv, baggage was fine.
The service was total s**t. It felt entirely too...American.
All of them were middle-aged or older union workers that didn't seem to really care. Many of them are obese. And before you judge me for pointing that out, it makes a huge difference when you are trying to stretch your legs or go to the bathroom and there's a double-wide with an attitude blocking the aisle.
There was one guy, Ken, that seemed to be assigned to my area. Ken needed to find a new f*&%ing job. He spent a good chunk of time at the back of the plane openly bashing some of the customers he was dealing with and making fun of the Koreans on board. Brother had no patience and a gut so big that at one point I watched him lift it up over someone's head in order to get through the aisle.
I also found it odd that you couldn't buy any additional snacks on the plane. I mean they fed you and you could get drinks at any time, but you couldn't order and buy a snack. It's the first flight I've been on in ages didn't do this.
I would choose a different carrier next time if I had the option (this was a last minute flight and I didn't have a lot of choice this time around). |

I understand completely. The main reason why I prefer to fly on Asian run airlines is because I find their attendants to be much more pleasant and more willing to go out of their way to make your flight enjoyable.
North American attendants seem to view passengers as an inconvenience, like someone bumming a ride and not as a paying customer.
