And I mean first as in first EVER. Always seen them in America, just never went in.
I'll try to not make this sound like a diary entry:
Anyway, let me first say that I've been to many a HomePlus and Emart and NEVER had someone ram me in the back of my heels. Not even once. Maybe a few times a Korean would have peered into my cart, but nothing too bad.
Well, wow, now I know what many have said on here about those two things. BAM! at least 3-4 times. No apologies, no bows, just continued on as normal like nothing happened. I do have to admit, and it was pretty funny, an old couple rammed the hell out of some kids ankles right in front of me and I couldn't help but laugh out loud. The kid was maybe 20 or so. So it goes both ways I guess.
On the other hand, the peering into my cart to see what the foreigner bought was getting kind of repetitious and annoying. YES, I'M BUYING TWO HUGE JARS OF PEANUT BUTTER AND A RESTAURANT SUPPLY SIZED BAG OF SHREDDED MOZZARELLA! Does it really matter that much?
Anyway, I did find and bought a pack of crew neck white tees, X-L that fit pretty good.
Overall, it was a maze of wonder full of nooks and crannies of fun things to buy. I will definitely be back. I'm hooked. But where's the hotdog buns, we couldn't find them =(
My wife and I bought 350,000 worth of groceries, and in Homeplus I'm sure it would have cost close to 450,000.
I'LL BE BACK!
It was the one in Ilsan if you wondered.
It's a great place to shop. Go if you haven't. |

| I used to live near the one in Ilsan. Today i trekked across Busan to go to the Costco there and it was maddening. I used to go to Ilsan to Costco in the evenings and it was like having the whole store to yourself. If you can visit during the week it'll be worth it! |

Thanks Kate, I would, but I live about 30-40 minutes away and after work I'm too tired. I would if I lived in Ilsan, though. |

Weird, it's happened to me quite a few times in Emart, the last time being straight into my ankle, and I yelped out 'Ow!', and the woman looked at me, then looked away. I'm not going to say what I did in response to that, but let's just say that at the end of it all she was the angry one, not me.
What one should do the next time it happens, although it might take some Dutch courage in the system, is to fall on the floor screaming in pain and clutching one's ankle, and see how it goes from there. Can even watch the Italian soccer team beforehand for some tips on how to make the pain and facial expressions seem legit. |

That�s true but you most likely bought stuffs which are not really necessary and/or you don�t need them in such large quantities. If you buy a shopping cart full of stuffs than you don�t save money at Costco. |

Hmm, I don't know...I bought razors, cheese, Hash Browns, a DVD player, shirts, mustard and ketchup, sam-gyup-sal, burrito wraps-most everything I bought I need, isn't perishable or can be frozen. I thought we did quite well =) |

Costco can save you a great deal of money plus they have products you can't find elsewhere. Some others may not like it but they don't shop for the same things and probably don't cook at home.
Don't forget to buy a couple of Costco shopping bags. They cost a little over 2,000 and they're big and last a long time. You can use them for so many things, too. |

| Costco is CRAP for beer. Good for hard stuff though. Actually going to Costco is for peasants. Order through: http://www.costlove.com/ 590KRW to 990KRW flat rate charge per product. The cheapest, fastest delivery service. |
