Has anyone been to this in the past? You know I gotta rep my peoples haha. Also, as this is my first year here, I'm extremely interested to see how this will be. My (Korean) bf has told me all about the RIDICULOUS stickers and how it's not really a real parade, so I'm definitely curious.

http://www.kqcf.org/

It says the parade is from 12 - 7, but that seems kinda cray cray. I imagine it's really just more of a street festival?

Thanks for the scoop.

Everything is on one page if you click the American flag...

Parade Event
Saturday 02 June 2012, 12:00-19:00
Hanbit Media Park

Also, I'm curious about the film festival, too. Not quite sure how the English/Korean works. They list a few films "superimposed in English..." but all the films they're showing, it seems, are American documentary/indie films.

i went to this several years while i was in korea (prolly 2007-2010) and it was small but fun. Mostly there are foreign folks there, but there seemed to be more and more koreans there each year. There's a pretty strict photo policy, as a lot of the attendees don't want to be IDed there, but they self-identify with red sashes. otherwise, it's a sassy little street party. it's a great half day or so of fun and i thought it was important to go in support of the korean LGBT community. you should go!

haven't checked out the film festival part, though, so don't know what to expect there.

There is another post where students tell their foreign teacher that there are few gays in South Korea. Hahahaha. I love it.

And enjoy the festival! Just don't let the press take photos of the crazy and drunken foreigners.
