Is it worth the money, or should I just mail it to Department of State? How long does it take from D.C.? Also is there a fee, my CBC does not show a fee.
TY! |

There was a fee when I went. If at all possible, I'd recommend going there and doing it in person if you live close enough. Got my CBC apostilled in about 45 mins versus a couple weeks it would take in the mail. |

All I know is that i sent in my diploma to get the apostille on April 20, and I still haven't gotten it back yet. I'm looking for someone I know in DC to go get my CBC done once that comes in |

Use a service like rushdocs.com if you don't want to wait two months. |

Another vote for RushDocs. I used them and got my FBI check back in a week. |

You sent your diploma (or notarized copy) to the U.S. Department of State in DC? As far as I know, U.S. Department of State doesn't apostille degrees or notarized copies of a degree, they only apostille certified documents from federal goverment agencies. A notarized copy of your diploma should be sent to the State Department in whatever state you received the notarization from (so if it was notarized in Iowa, you get the apostille from the Iowa State Department). |

No, the CBC only needs the apostille from the U.S. Department of State.
It's an $8 fee if you do mail it in, and they now also require an authentications request form to be sent with it, which can be found here: http://www.state.gov/m/a/auth/ |
