Anyone know what this number is? I get it on my handphone all the time. If I pick up, there is a machine talking. I also can't, for some reason, set it as SPAM. Really annoying.

I put the number in Naver's search engine and one of the posts was about getting nailed with collect call charges when you answer the phone.

I've gotten the exact same thing for months and have no idea how to stop it. It's annoying beyond belief. I get like 3-4 calls from it a day.

I got a few messages in Korean from them claiming to be Olleh and today they sent me a message in English asking me to pay 67,640 won in a phone bill. Olleh has my CC info and should bill me automatically every month, so I was curious as to see if it was legitimately Olleh...

I believe it's Olleh. When you don't pay your bill on time.

They've been billing me every month up until now... dunno why this came up? And they don't usually message me from this number.

but they didn't send me any links or anything so it doesn't seem like a scam... but still, seemed strange.

I would occasionally get phone calls and messages from SK from someone who didn't speak English and I was confused until I couldn't make international phone calls anymore.

Up until maybe a year or so ago, I guess international calls weren't automatically included in the autodebit and there were a few times where I had to manually do the transfer.

It definitely wasn't a scam in my case as I called SK directly to confirm. I also sent the money directly to the same account that autodebits. They eventually changed it though so that the autodebit would cover everything so I dont have that problem anymore.

This was all for SK though, I dont know about KT/OLLEH

I have the same thing, only the number is 02-1599-0500. It's SK asking me to pay my bill, yet when I call SK, they claim it's not them. It's been 3 times a day for the past 2 weeks. I tried to get it blocked, but SK said it'll be 2500 a month to do it.

What gives?

I get spam calls from people all the time, I don't answer them, but I've never gotten a spam message in English before...

If you don't live in Seoul, the 02 prefix is your first clue not to answer your phone.

I live in Suwon, close enough to Seoul to get calls. Still don't answer any call that isn't saved in my phone already though.

@olleh_expats on Twitter replied to my inquiry today:
Hey there, I checked the number and it is indeed our billing department, but without knowing exactly what is going on with your account, I can't say for sure why you are being contacted. I will refer you to our foreign language customer call center, which you can reach at 1583 (toll-free from any kt mobile phone), or 02-2190-1180 from any other phone. If, after contacting them, the problem has not been resolved, please get in touch with me again and I will help in further investigating the matter.
