Has anyone ever noticed (and can anyone explain?) that many foreign beers are imported through the United States? Molson Canadian is imported from the States and not from Canada. It's the same with Beck's. Truly a shame since it drives up the price.

I am talking out of my ass, but that fact it is imported by way of a distributor in the states most likely doesn't drive up the price as much as Korean taxes do. That is the big one, plus the mere fact that it is imported so it gets the higher tag because people will pay that much.

You're probably right about the taxes but why does it have to come through the States?

I do miss the Canadian beer. But was not willing to pay twice for it when I could have an acceptable one, not great but good enough for an undiscriminating drunk like me. Wink

By the way, how many of you can spell and write well when drunk? I usually can, brag, brag.

I'd kill for a VB. You know when I was in Bangkok for a break. Ended up in this place, owned by an Australian chap. Just like home. It was near the Hyatt if I remember rightly.

Anyhow... It was just like a beer garden. I had fish and chips- Just like home and was able to introduce the woman to a good Australian burger.

The things is they had VB and I said no... I'll wait till home. It'll be something to look forward to. Months on now... Feels like I'll never get there...
