I recently.traded in my US driver's license for a Korean one. However, I am not sure if it allows me to drive both automatic and manual transmissions. In the top left corner it says "2종보통." Under my photo, there is another number, "2031XA". There is no other class/restriction info on the card. Will this allow me to drive a stick shift?

| Up to 10 pax, freighter trucks holding up to 4 tons. Nothing about manual transmission though. Since most freighter trucks in Korea are manual I'm guessing you're allowed to drive a manual. |

It's the same as a B-class license. No differentiation between manual and automatic. (2 instead of B). Too bad you couldn't convince them that it's also for a motorcycle. I was able to say that it's both a M and B (not true), so I got both a 1 and 2 when I converted. |

Thanks for your responses. I did a not more research and found the following info:
The code in the top left corner shows the class of license you have. 2종자동 is the automatic transmission license whereas 2종보통 denotes the ability to drive both manual and automatic transmissions. So, it looks like I'm all set to buy a manual transmission car. |
