Ive been a self employed model in England-mostly lingerie, catalogue and promo work.
I do enjoy it and was wondering if there was a chance I could do the odd Modelling job in Korea while I'm teaching?not lingere just fashion work. I'm not sure if my visa will allow it or even if there is a call for western models, and what their views are of female models, but any help on this would be appreciated.
Thanks |

I know a Western girl who did some modeling in Korea who probably wouldn't have been able to make it into modeling in her home country, so I'm sure if you are actually a model in your home country you could do well in Korea. I also met a Canadian model at the mud festival a couple of years ago. |

You can find work, and will most likely find it more fun to just model.
I'd say come over through teaching then make the switch after you network a bit. Oh yea, there is a call for Western models, don't worry.
As you probably know it can be a bit transient, even more so than for teachers but you'll have a blast and probably find it more socially fulfilling as well.
Just watch for people trying to scam you, try to get a feel for what agencies the other girls have had trouble with. Maybe you've picked up on this stuff already... anyways good luck. |

If you are here on a teaching visa (E-series), then any other employment is illegal. |

You might be able to do modeling work if you get permission from your employer (official documentation needed) and get official approval from immigration (they'll stamp your passport and all that, so there won't be any ambiguity). I know you can get another teaching job this way, but I'm not sure if you can get completely different kinds of work on an E-class visa.
One alternative (besides breaking the stupid law and doing it anyway, which is what I would do), is find an agency willing to sponsor your visa, but that would mean quitting your teaching job, of course. |

You cannot get another type of job on the E visa. |

They'd to allow ppl to be in shows/movies while on an E2 - with prior approval. It's been done before, so it's not (or at least wasn't) impossible.
That being said, those industries are horrible for scheduling. They often switch up at the last minute, and they need ppl with vasa status that are able to handle that. |

E2s have appeared in these kinds of things, but there were also reports of immigration going through the credits of these shows trying to find those who did and deport them.
If you want to model in Korea and don't have an F visa, I think you'd need an entertainment visa or perhaps some other kind of work visa. I don't know what kind of visas they normally issue to legitimate models. |

I believe one-time poster Triban was into modeling work and said he was able to do it legally; you could try PMing him. |
