A former member of the national football team and a former professional baseball player have been arrested for kidnapping a woman in southern Seoul to collect ransom money, police said Tuesday.
The 28-year-old former national footballer, who is only identified by his surname Kim, was caught after he received a three-year suspended jail term last year in connection with a match-fixing scandal, police said.
The two suspects, who were taken into custody by police officers on Saturday morning in Seoul's Gangnam district, are suspected of stopping a Mercedes Benz driven by the 40-something woman and then kidnapping her along with the car. |

I don't know about for ransom, but if you require an additional wife, then kidnapping a widow was once acceptable. It was called "보쌈", ( cover or "wrap" with a blanket ). Seems reasonable. |
