Curious if anyone could shed some light on the GEPIK hiring process. I know EPIK is centralized, in that EPIK interviews and selects teachers, and they're then placed in schools that are affiliated with the EPIK program (without much direct say from the school).

Am I correct that GEPIK is not centralized like EPIK? That instead you work with recruiters who work with GEPIK, and then the recruiter tries to get you interviews with individual schools? If that is the case, any idea when GEPIK schools will be announcing their positions for Aug/Sept? And is it common to turn down offers from GEPIK schools until you find one in an area you like, or is that considered a big no-no?

You can do 2 things, apply directly to GEPIK but you don't decide where you go. If you go with recruiters, you have a choice. Perhaps, the recruiter won't help you further, but you can always get another recruiter.

I suggest waiting for the school you want, interview, and then find out how the location is (living, transportation, etc...).

Go with Korvia for a recruiter. They're the leading GEPIK recruiter and have a lot of schools that use them. Make a bomb video introduction of yourself (If you know someone that has a nice camera and mic, and knows how to edit, use them). Make it flashy (but not obtrusive). The recruiter will shop around at schools for you with the video.

This is actually a really interesting thread. I am thinking of going from SMOE to GEPIK, and was wondering on whether I could use multiple recruiters or not?

I know with SMOE that you cannot and that your application will be rejected, but is it the same with GEPIK? Or considering they deal with the schools directly can you use more than one?
