Anyone got up-to-date information on the quality of education at either of the international schools in Busan?
I know one school recently opened a campus in Gijang.
There is another school in Haeundae, which teaches a US based curriculum.
First-hand experience from parents with kids at either school would be appreciated.
I'm looking at sending my kid to one of these schools. The fees are high so I want to be sure the quality of education is a high as possible.
Cheers. |

The one in Haeundae new town is almost exclusively for Korean kids now but it does have a good track record of getting students into American Unis. It is run on a profit basis as a business. They cut corners on salaries so they don't get great best teachers sometimes.
The one near Gijang is growing fast because of all the expats pouring in to Geoje and Ulsan so it has a diverse mix of nationalities and it is a proper accredited IB school. It was founded by Scandinavians as a not-for-profit school for their kids.
They are both way overpriced (as are all international schools in korea) but I think I would recommend option 2. |
