Notice the number of dislikes - Irony/sarcasm not working out well for some people.

The comments at the bottom are better than the video.

Korean's don't understand western style satire/parody/comedy.

They turned on Jay Park for less.

I just watched it and it was rubbish. It wasn't funny.
"I'm a really bad person. Just kidding. In fact you're a bad person." What kind of message is that. He replies to a detractor that people should make their own video. Why bother?
I went to Han river with my girlfriend, her sister, and the sister's husband on Saturday. We all ate fajitas and had a nice time. When we were playing football a little kid came and joined in. It was fun.
Instead of boring the world with pointless videos that don't contribute anything why not do what I did.? Send a message to MBC, sign a petition, and condemn it wherever possible. Then move on and live a good life.

I think it all depends on one's perceptions. I thought it was funny - but sarcasm is not always easily understood - even by some westerners.

By the way, a similar comment could have been made as a response to any comedian - especially if you are not in on the joke.

'I played soccer and then went shopping. Time well spent! Why are you wasting your time making stupid jokes?'

Or how about artists?

'I spent time with my family making a dinner and then I went to church. Meanwhile, you wasted your time drawing some stupid pictures! Come on, be like me and live a little!'

I guess not everyone has an open mind or the ability to comprehend the fact that people have different interests/abilities/hobbies and means of expression.
That is truly unfortunate.

Perhaps it's just my closed mind but I don't think the video is half as clever as it thinks it is. I don't think it achieves what it sets out to either.
I understand sarcasm and think that perhaps this person doesn't know how to use it effectively.

The examples you gave achieve something. I don't think the video achieves anything positive.

Then again...maybe they just think it is a bad video.
There are plenty of good reasons not to like this particular video and not understanding irony/sarcasm would have nothing to do with it.

Again, suggesting that people don't understand sarcasm...therefore they don't like the video.
This type of logic comes off as more than a bit condescending.

If you like the video...fine.
Leave it at that.

A comedian makes a joke. 40% understand the joke and laugh, 40% do not get it. It is feasible that 20% understand the joke but simply do not find it funny. (btw, the number of likes/dislikes indicates that the percentages are a bit different).

Isn't it equally condescending to then say 'you are not funny, now get a real job/hobby'?

I've never found him to be remotely as funny as he thinks he is, and it's really the fault of the seoul government for liking that stupid subway video of his.
