Except that's just not true. You've said yourself you avoid hanging out with foreigners, so you're probably not the best to judge the average age of foreigners in Korea. Again, most people coming over for the first time are right in that age range between 25-28 or so, which everyone here seems to recognize, save you. |
I don't get it? |
Just because the same numbers exist in separate posts doesn't mean they're saying the same thing. Read both posts again and get back to me. |

I got hired when I was 30, so I'd say 27 is fine.
Rather than your age, your social life will depend more on your location. Are there other non-Koreans at your school/hagwon? What are your co-teachers like? Are there other foreigners in your town/city? Are you brave enough to get out and meet people? |

| 27? You're just a baby. I started with EPIK when I was 39 but just returned to the US. I was offered to renew a third year but turned it down as I needed to return home to take care of a bunch of stuff. My roommate at EPIK orientation was 52...and he just renewed for his third contract. I met another guy at EPIK from Scotland who was 42. I have two other friends who are currently with SMOE and they are 42 and 40. Another British of mine just did two years and he's 36. So, you are not old. Man, it always cracks me up when people who are 27 say they are old or over the hill. |

Good to know some people in EPIK are older. I was under the exact opposite impression |

| The only people who don't have a chance of working in Korea are those that don't apply and follow the process through! Sometimes it's a case of next live body in line with completed paperwork gets the job. That's part of what makes Korea great and frustrating! |

| Instructing/teaching has nothing to do with age. With age comes wisdom and with wisdom comes maturity. Teachers in Australia don't retire until their early sixties. Whoever says you are too old to do anything is jealous. I am past my mid-forties. Ask submersible Bob he is on my back like a fly on faeces every time I post anything. |

| A lot depends on whether 27 refers to age or IQ. |
