Yea, I find the older version superior. Six, be happy with the version you have. |

what's wrong with the new one? I hear it has a customizable dictionary and prioritizes words by usage rather than some stupid algorithm that makes "awesome" turn to "arsine" 80% of the time. the only benefit the old one seems to have is to make my speech more colorful and shift direction mid-sentence. |

it's not so much the performance and results of the new one that annoys me, but it's the interface. truly awful. it re-adjusts the display with a horizontal bar to show word recommendations instead of the vertical pop-up list that it used to have. the truly annoying thing about it re-adjusting the display is that if you are a fast swyper like me it doesn't come close to keeping up and i touch areas of the screen i don't want to. it's a bit infuriating actually. |

the Swype I use already has the horizontal word selection menu. I think the interface is probably almost the same, so I only stand to benefit from the new Swype. |

Just connected my phone to KIES and it looks like the new Ice Cream Sandwich firmware is FINALLY available for the Galaxy S2 LTE. Haven't had a chance to upgrade yet, but might get around to giving it a try tomorrow.
Finally! |

I've just got the LTE, not HD. Hope to have time to back up and upgrade tomorrow...
Hopefully you won't have to wait too long... |

As if by magic, the HD LTE update was there this morning
I have to say...WOW. The device is working much, much better. There is no lag, everything is smooth and fast. I really am delighted with this upgrade.

I have the S2 HD LTE, and I got the ICS upgrade installed last night. However, because of TouchWhiz I can't really tell the difference. I haven't figured out how to root my phone yet and get rid of the Samsung junk. Does anyone have any idea how to root the S2 HD LTE? I've tried a few of the programs that were recommended, but nothing worked. |

I finally had to physically take my Galaxy Note into the shop for the ICS update.
Then a week or so ago a friend of mine also got a Galaxy Note, and it did not come with ICS, which was irritating. |

another awesome thing about the latest ics update for the kt galaxy s II is that it wiped out my dictionary database. it suggests i download it from samsungmobile.com but trying to find it on that site is like trying to find the loch ness on the moon. even the multiple koreans i've had try and help me were boggled.
thanks samsung! |
