I trawled through this site to find the answers, however, so far, I haven't found out quite what I'm looking for. I have been a daily smoker for many years and have given up for nearly a month. I have no intention of starting again - ever. My application has been successful and I will be in SK in late August. This will mean I will be smoke free for 3 months before I start. Has anyone out there done the same and did you pass the drug test? Please tell stories of quitting before you left and how that worked out for you. Good and bad. Thanks in advance. |

Are you talking about smoking cannabis? In which case it should be well out of your system by then.
However, you didn't specify what it was that you used to smoke daily. I presume that being a smoker (of tobacco) is perfectly fine in a country where 80% of people smoke... |

Yes, I do mean the C word. I appreciate your reply and help. However, I do need to know on what authority do you know this? I'm going of what I researched through various forums and medical pages. The process and desire to go to SK has for me been enough to give up what has been a pointless habit. But need to know whether your knowledge on this has been through experience (either direct or indirect). |

It should be out of your system unless you're fat. |

Don't worry about it. It will be long gone after 3 months. THC stays in your system for no longer than a month if you are a frequent smoker. In my case, I have passed urine tests just a week after smoking. It all depends on your body type and metabolism, but unless you are obese you have nothing to worry about. |

If really paranoid consider a haircut to the skin, all over. But a hair test is not likely. I think after 3 months you are fine. Maybe just up the water intake, if worried. Try to live a little cleaner.
Anyways you do not do the medical/health check right off the plane. You have a week or two to get it done.
Also consider avoiding hanging out with friends that do smoke before leaving. Plus make sure all clothes and stuff you are bringing are clean too. If you where a constant smoker, who knows what might be lurking in a pocket or bag.
I hope you mean it on the quitting. Please also do not consider doing it here in Korea. Different country, different laws, and different attitudes towards it. |
