I got a Korean police clearance certificate a few weeks ago, and now I need it translated into English. Does anyone know where to do this, and if the translator would provide some certification (the equivalent of a notarization in the US)? What I mean is, I need some "official" translation, as opposed to having a friend do it. I've been online and found two services--the best deal is to pay $49 to get it in two working days...still wondering if I can do it cheaper and faster, though. Plus, one of the services looks a little sketchy (it doesn't give me confidence when their home page promises "Get Certified Transaltion in 3 Easy Steps" Very Happy Any advice/leads would be much appreciated, thanks!!

If not in Seoul, then find your local Court House. The usually have Notary Services around. Plus some of the also provide translation services too.

Does anyone know if the translation shops behind the US Embassy are open on Saturday? Or what time they close on Friday?

It takes about 10 minutes. Just make sure you get the more "official" version with the red stamp at the bottom if needed (I believe you check all three boxes - not just the top one); there are two options that are basically the same, but one has a red stamp. It is quick and free. I was surprised by the simplicity of the process.
