This is my second year in Korea. I have an E2 visa.
I have been working at a kiddy hakwon for just over a month now. I have also (with permission) been working part-time at an adult academy in the mornings. I've found that I much prefer working with adults. The adult academy has indicated that they would be willing to take me on full-time. However I remember reading somewhere that even with a LOR immi won't allow a transfer of E2 visa sponsorship until at least 6 months after starting the original job. Is this still the case, and if so, what are my other options?
Thanks. |

Maybe it's changed, but I haven't heard about such a change.
Your main option is to just cancel your current visa and do a visa run to Japan to get a new visa for the other school. |

IF both are on your ARC the process is a simple matter of a change of sponsorship at immigration (Change in status of sojourn).
IF one or the other are NOT on your ARC then you need the LOR from your 1st employer to move to the 2nd. It is a simple transfer.

I'm curious about how that works if you renewed for a second year. Does immi consider you in the first month of a new contract again and thus LOR is useless? Or are you now in the 13th month and the LOR is possible? |
