Yesterday I sent my resume and photo to a few recruiters. How long does it usually take for recruiters to get back to you?
This is my first time doing this. I got a CELTA last fall and I'm looking for my first job in Korea. I'm worried that age might be an issue because I'm 38. |

If your documents are ready and you look decent in your photo you should get numerous quick responses.
If you didn't specify about your documents, they will enquire about that.
If your documents are not ready, you will have fewer responses until they are ready.
Your age won't be much of a factor. |

I'm thinking there really should be a sticky about age and teaching in Korea |

If your application package included:
resume,
cover letter
scan of degree with apostille
scan of cbc with apostille
scan of passport information page
and your demands/requirements weren't too specific (ie: I only want a job in Busan, adults only, no kids, no weekends, no splits) then you should hear back pretty soon from someone.
IF any of the 4 documents listed above were NOT in your e-mail then you may never hear back from them.
38 is not an issue.

^this pretty much exactly. When I was looking for a job I sent out just my resume and cover photo to 2 recruiters. I didn't hear back from them and after 4 days I came to the forums to find out why. I think ttompatz gave me almost the exact same reply as this one and I followed his advice, sending out scans of all my documents, passport, and resume to another 2 or 3 recruiters and heard back from all of them within 24 hours. |
