They are legit. They were the old Asian Spirit Airlines.

They started running domestic flights in the Phils back in '96 and changed to "Zest" in 2008 (the company was bought out my AMY holdings whose primary other business was "ZEST-O juice).

They primarily run a fleet of A320-200s with a few Xian MA60's for short hops to short runway places like Caticlan.

They are one of 2 users of the new NAIA3 terminal in Manila (they share the terminal with Cebu Pacific).

I am not sure about their current international routes. They used to run from the Philippines to Palau (was a nice flight) on their (since retired) BA146s.

I have used them domestically in the Phils but not internationally other than Palau (since discontinued).

They were also the airline that bunged up 2 Xian MA60's flying into Caticlan airport (Boracay) back in 2009 by overshooting the runways. Both cases were pilot error (one undershot the runway and one overshot). There were injuries in the 1st case and none in the 2nd case.

Ttompatz has it right. These new international flights will use the new Term 3 (3 is also used by a few other LCC, like AirPhil Express). However, Zest flys most of its flights domesticity and mainly out of the old Manila Domestic Passenger Terminal, also known as NAIA Terminal 4.

Zest has run seasonal and charter fights between Inchon and Manila for several years however, it is just recently with the new regular scheduled flights that you can book online, in a routine and easy manor using your credit card.

It seems it is all part of Zest's plan to expand regional international flights:

Zest Air Expands Regional Flights

By BERNIE CAHILES-MAGKILAT

March 10, 2012, 11:41pm

MANILA, Philippines Zest Air is adding five more international destinations this year with the acquisition of two A-320 planes to meet expanding passenger load.

Alfredo Yao, chairman of the Zesto Group of Companies which owns Zest Air, said these new destinations include Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong, Singapore and two more destinations.

Yao said they would be able to mount new routes starting May this year because one A-320 already arrived last month and the other A-320 would be in by May this year. Zest Air has a total fleet of 10 airbuses and 3MA-60s.

Zest Air is also launching Clark-Hong Kong, Clark-Bangkok and Clark-Singapore flights in the last quarter of 2012.

The expansion is attributed to the companys robust growth since the start of the year.

In January this year, the company was able to double its domestic and international passenger loads versus the same period last year.

Domestic flight passengers hit 224,723 up from 150,091 a year ago while its international flights had 35,638 passengers from 15,990 in the same period last year.

Zest Airs seat allocation also rose to 300,560 from 215,488 for domestic and to 44,340 from 17,352 for international.

Zest Airways Inc. was established on March 26, 2008 by the Yao-owned AMY Holdings Corp. to grab some opportunities in the airline and aviation industry.

The management focuses on accelerating profitability by introducing brand new aircraft and innovating marketing strategies.

Zest Air initially operated 20 local destinations and in 2009 launched its regional and southeast Asian operations.
