You also need to go to immigration right away to inform them that you were fired and to say that you want to stay in the country for a while to deal with the situation. Tell them whatever the labor board told you and say that you were unjustly fired.

A follow up on my experience.
My ex boss, after 14 days, cancelled my visa.
I picked up my D10 visa from Immigration three weeks after my application, last Friday.
I have just been offered a new contract and just wanting to know the process for transferring back to an E2 from my D10 visa.
Can I take the contract, company registration, passport and ARC card to Immigration myself or does the director of the company need to come with me?

Thanks Troglodyte. End of Saga.
Even though this whole episode was horrible to go through, have come out the other side with an excellent contract. I negotiated for myself at the school, with the recruiter present and trying to get a better deal for the school. I was able to stand my ground, without insulting anyone or anyone losing face!
