was just reading the comments under an article on yahoo business. topic of article not important. in comments one guy starts compaining about how as a retired california police oficer he's afraid to spend too much of his 9000$ a month retirement pension because rumors abound that when cali goes broke and austerity measures are forced on them his monthly pension may be reduced to 6500$ a month.

I'd have thought they deserved pretty hefty pensions as being cops in the US they probably get shot at on a regular basis, no? |
Are you serious? No, they don't get shot at on a regular basis. |

He worked for the City of Detroit. People will shoot at paramedics. In this case its usually more of the nutjob on drugs or just plains nuts firing off random unaimed shots in the general direction of the firefighters, paramedics, and gawkers. Not some shootout.

Doesn't say anything about firefighters specifically.
Unless you think spending 30+ years of standing next to a bunch of smoking, burning everything under the sun will have no adverse affects on your health. |
