Hi
I'm not so savvy about these things but we're thinking of getting a gift for someone. Can you get the xbox 360 and accompanying gear in Korea pretty easily? Do they have to be Koreanized cds to work? What if I wanted to get kinetix or Black-Eyed Peas Dance Experience or something like that? Am I SOL? |

yes, you can get the stuff pretty easily in korea. will b an ntsc-j console though meaning some games will be region-locked, and some may only have korean menus and/or voices (though most are in english).
u will likely pay too much if u shop at a dept store, so go online, or to a specialty gameshop area.

i recently got the 4Gb holiday package from this site for less than 300,000 (was new, not used)

u have to have an acct though. u'll likely have to pay for shipping as well. and, it's probably safer to use the escrow service, which also will increase the price a little.
i searched for the title u mentioned, and u may b sol on that one. play-asia is showing it as out-of-stock and out-of-print, but region-free. so, u could order it for $30US from amazon or somewhere(although i'm not guaranteeing that it's region-free just because play-asia says it is).

also, they r selling 360/kinect bundles for $99 now, but u r locked into an xbox live gold acct ($14.99monthly) for 2 yrs. certain it's not available in korea.

Checking on play-asia is an excellent idea because if the game does not work, you've already opened it, so you're stuck with it (unless you take it to a used game shop or find a friend with a Korean system)
Also I'll point out that I bought a Kinect at HomePlus for my US XBox and it worked fine. Up until recently, Kinect games were all not region locked too. |
